PROFILE OF REV. NATHANIEL DOWL, III, TH.D., D.D. The Rev. Dr. Nathaniel Dowl, III is a respected religious leader born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was
baptized and licensed to preach into the Gospel Ministry at Payne Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of Rev. Lester A. Shaw. While at Payne Memorial, he served as an Associate Minister, Youth Officer, Sunday School Teacher and as an Armor Bearer to the Senior Pastor. Upon completing High School, he attended Delgado Community College, New
Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated from A.P. Clay Bible College in Kenner, LA where he served as Student Body Vice President. Dr. Dowl received a Doctorate of Theology degree from A.P. Clay Bible College and a Doctorate of Divinity degree from Kenner Christian Theological Bible College. Dr. Dowl was ordained into the Gospel Ministry under the auspices of the Pure Light Missionary Baptist and Educational
Association under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Rene C. Powe, Sr., Moderator. He served as Senior Pastor of
various churches over the years and currently serves as Senior Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church of New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Dowl served as Moderator of the
Universal Missionary Baptist Association now serving as Moderator Emeritus. In addition to
serving as Moderator Emeritus; Dr. Dowl served as former Vice President of Greater Louisiana
Baptist State Convention, former Corresponding Secretary of Louisiana General Missionary
Baptist State Convention, former Assistant General Secretary of the Baptist Pastors Conference of New Orleans & Vicinity, former General Secretary of the New St. John Missionary Baptist Association, former General Secretary of the United Brotherhood Missionary Educational Baptist Association and is a member of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America (NMBCA). He was elected an At-Large Member of the NAACP New Orleans Branch Executive Committee. Dr. Dowl is a former professor at Christian Bible College of Southeast Louisiana (Covington, LA campus) and currently is a professor at Kenner Christian Theological Bible
College.
